History of Gloves

According to the historical records of gloves, they were first recorded on the "Homeric epic" of the sixth century BC. The ancient Greeks, like Indians or middle eastern people, ate hand pilaf, but before they used their hands to eat pilaf, they had to wear special gloves. The practical functions of the gloves were the same as the chopsticks used by the Chinese people. So gloves were used as a tool for grabbing food in history. 

Starting from the 13th century, European women began to wear gloves as decoration. These gloves are usually made of linen or silk ,they reach up to the elbows. During this period, it was also popular for male nobles to wear decorated gloves.

After taking over the gloves, the European religious community changed their function. The clergy wear white gloves as a symbol of holiness and piety, some religious ceremonies in certain denominations require white gloves. 

Before the 19th century, the sacred role of white gloves expanded to some occasions include the need for kings to wear them when issuing political orders and judges to decide cases. European knights wore white gloves to signify the execution of sacred duties; they took off the gloves and held them in their hands, indicating natural leisure; they threw gloves in face of the opponent to signify a challenge to a duel; they picked up the gloves to declare to fight. Not only in the West, but in the past century of Chinese warlord warfare and Japanese aggression against China, officers also wore white gloves which became a kind of decoration for military personnel to proclaim martial holy war. Nowadays, military honor guards from various countries still wear white gloves, and even soldiers on the equator still maintain the tradition.

In 2011, a new type of glove appeared in the Chinese market, which was accompanied by the emergence of touch screen electronic devices. As the fact that capacitive touch screen operate through current sensing of human body , but common gloves cannot transmit human body current,  that people meet a problem –they cannot control mobile phones when they wear gloves during the cold winter.  However when there is a phone call or a need to use a mobile phone, it is a necessary to take off the gloves and expose your hands. In order to meet peoples' needs, a new type of touch screen gloves has been developed. This type of glove has a conductive effect as conductive fibers are implanted in the glove fabric, it is allow the glove to conduct human current to be smoothly transmitted to the screen, thus playing the role of controlling capacitive screens.

Women wearing gloves are elegant and beautiful, so in ancient Europe, there were decorative gloves made of silk, velvet or other textures ,with black, white and colorful color or different length. In the 19th century, hand-painted and black mesh gloves also appeared, which give people a mysterious feeling.
